IT Technical Support Engineer

Signet Technology is a regional IT distributor and is seeking qualified people to work in our IT Technical Support Department. Our working environment is casual, yet can be fast-paced and stressful at times. Good office etiquette, communication and team-working skills are very important.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all technical support matters for our range of products, which include Networking Equipment like Switches, Routers, Outdoor and Indoor Wireless Systems, Digital Surveillance, KVM products, VoIP products, etc.
• Assist our channel partners (system integrators) in network design and planning.
• Provide technical support and trouble shooting with the channel partners end users via phones and emails at all times.
• Handle RMA goods by verifying return products, document RMA events and interface with customers on RMA unit.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems.
• Responsible for overall customer satisfaction of local and overseas clients, in terms of technical issues and matters.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to find appropriate solutions for a given problem and/or situation in the area of networking technology.
• Learn everything about newly launched and existing products and be able to provide pre-sales technical information training and education to internal staff and channel partners.
• Perform site survey to quantify and propose appropriate solutions to customers, for both Infrastructure Network and Local Area Network.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Diploma in Computer Engineering with good working knowledge will be considered.
• At least 2 - 3 years working experience in an IT environment advantages.
• With the necessary acumen to explain the product features and advantages to potential customer.
• STRONG technical problem solving skills, in the area of IT products.
• Posses strong project and resources management skills.
• Ability to work independently and deal with ambiguity.
• Familiar with Windows 9x, 2000, XP and Vista.
• In-depth knowledge of PC networking hardware.
• Working understanding of Internet and email related software.
• Possess DSL, TCP/IP, and Networking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
