Senior Shift Computer Operator

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of shift computer operators. Plan, schedule and allocate tasks and job priority to meet the requirements of the production schedule for the shift.


• Schedule, release and carry out mass processing of batch jobs under SAP ERP environment. Monitor jobs closely and allocate job priority to ensure their timely completion.


• Maintain and ensure that procedures for operations are kept up-to-date.


• Perform proactive monitoring of critical systems and infrastructure services through centralised systems and environment monitoring facilities.


• Initiate incident reports for any production issue, assign and escalate incident for resolution in a timely manner and ensure proper follow-through until the issue is resolved.


• Ensure safety, cleanliness and security of the Computer Centre at all times. Report any security infringement and escalate any alarms/emergencies to OICs promptly.


• Ensure adequate stock level of all consumables in the Computer Centre.


• Train new shift computer operators and ensure there are sufficient backup resources.


• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements:

• Full GCE 'A' level certificate or equivalent with 6 years' relevant working experience; or 3 GCE `O' levels or equivalent with 9 years' relevant working experience.


• Candidates with computer operations experience in SAP ERP and HP UX (UNIX) environment would be preferred. Working knowledge of Veritas Netbackup would be an added advantage.


• Must possess good communications, interpersonal and supervisory skills.


• Able to work independently and be proactive in supporting daily operations and projects.


• Will be required to work on rotating shift in a 24x7 operations.
