INTERACTIVE MEDIA PROGRAMMER

Description:

The graphics programmer designs, implements, and maintains graphics applications and tools used in feature film production. These tools include production management and work-flow tools, resource allocation and tracking, input/output for film video imagery, and GUI front-ends for controlling these procedures. Application development areas include rendering and integration and enhancement of third-party graphics packages through plug-ins.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing and providing the tools that facilitate the creation of the artwork.
• Rendering of the animation
• Write programs and develop new softwares for individual production needs.
• Also involved in troubleshooting and resolving all computer related problems.
• Creating software and tools for feature film production consisting of:
  - Rendering
  - Interactive tools
  - Animation
  - Visual effects (hair, fur, cloth)
  - 3D modeling
  - Compositing
  - Job management
  - Pipeline programming
  - C++
  - Python
  - Shell scripting
  - Graphics programming
  - Renderman shader writing

Qualifications:

• Background in engineering/math/physics
• 3 or more years of programming experience (a plus)
• Fluent in C/C++, Java, and Python/MEL
• Familiarity with 3D computer graphics concepts.
• GUI experience a plus.
• Good mathematics skills
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Hard working and willing to learn
• Experience with 3D programming and databases
• Portfolio should include past projects
• Portfolio (a plus)
