Associate Market Research Analyst

IDC Malaysia has a vacancy for an Associate Market Research Analyst, based in Kuala Lumpur. The role forms part of IDC's Australia & New Zealand Offshore Research Group located in Malaysia.

The successful candidate will continue to develop IDC's expertise in the hardcopy peripheral (printing and imaging device) market and position IDC as a leading authority on the area. This expertise will be used to assist IDC's customers gain insight into market dynamics, growth potential and the competitive landscape, and will be delivered in the form of clearly articulated research deliverables and client presentations.

Reporting to the Research Manager, Australia, the primary responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the printing and imaging vendors, distribution channel, and other key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure consistent and timely delivery of monthly and quarterly research.
  • Collecting, organizing and quality control of data in a structured format.
  • Monitoring vendors activity, and introduction of new models and their specifications.
  • Tracking end-user and channel promotions on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Liaison with AP in the tracker coordination process.
  • Preparing qualitative write-ups and delivering client presentations.
  • Assist in primary and secondary research in areas of consulting and others.

Job requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Statistics, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Economics, Accounting, Marketing or equivalent.
  • 1+ years work experience in the ICT industry, ideally in the IT hardware space
  • Numerically inclined with a high degree of comfort with market metrics and an understanding of economic measures and concepts, excellent skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Analytical with great attention to detail.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in an offshore environment, with strong organisational skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
