Snr OSC Design Engineer/OSC Design Engineer

Broad Function

Designs and evaluates circuits from concept to product launch, to provide a product that exceeds customer expectations of performance, quality and reliability.

Develop new precision oscillators – OCXO, TCXO, VCXO particularly in the frequently ranges of 5 MHz to 200Mhz. Implement and validate prototype samples to meet customer specifications. Requires analog circuitry background with emphasis on low noise as well manufacturability. Transfer and support products to manufacturing for full production.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform circuit simulation; generate schematics, bills of materials, crystals and component specifications, mechanical drawings, and other documentation as necessary. Design and build test fixtures for prototype testing as necessary. Perform electrical and environmental testing to validate CAD simulations and for small quantity production. Work with assembly personnel to oversee the proper assembly of oscillator/filter prototypes. Identify opportunities and make recommendations for automated systems to assist in electrical testing of large quantity productions runs.

• Interface with Sales, customers, and vendors as necessary to achieve design goals and control cost objectives.

• Design of precision oscillator, temperature compensation technique and analog circuits to support oscillator development.

Requirements

• Bach/Master in Electronics and Electrical Engineering with a min of 5 yrs knowledge of general precision Osc design, analog, RF techniques and theory.

• Familiarity with crystal oscillators/filter circuits and testing preferred.

• Computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft office suite and CAD simulation software; working knowledge of Visual Basic and automated systems preferred.

• Able to work independently to accomplish assigned project.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
