Senior Manager - BI

Nature and Aim of the Position: The (Senior) Manager- BI provides leadership to the BI Department in The company. Working with Function Heads and/or their designated manager, he/she will conceptualize, plan, coordinate and provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of software applications in the area of Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence and Reporting Systems. He/she will provide guidance to his team in analyzing the available data sources that will facilitate the development of OLAP/dashboards/reports that give new insights. He/she will ensure the available solutions meet the specified requirements and are in-line with company’s business strategy.

Main Duties: The (Senior) Manager – BI shall

• Lead and coach a team of BI Analyst and Business Analyst belonging to him/her
• Lead the creation and continually enhancing a Data Warehouse or Datamarts that will be used as a source of data for Business Intelligence and Reporting Systems
• Develop solutions (including implementation of application packages) supporting company’s business objectives in relation to Business Intelligence and Reporting Systems
• Work with relevant functions in the company to understand their business needs and create new OLAP/dashboards/reports to meet these requirements
• Ensure that project are delivered on time and within budget
• Contribute to the overall success of the Group’s operations by participating in the definition and creation of IT strategies

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• Ensure that business and activities are in line with company ethics and applicable legislation
• Responsible for BI Department budget preparation and its achievement
• Ensure that BI projects and implementations are consistent and aligned with the strategic direction of the business
• Lead, Motivate, develop and coach the persons reporting directly to him/her

Education and Experience:

• Degree in IT or equivalent
• Good communications and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of at least one BI Tool – e.g., Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Hyperion, etc
• In-depth working experience of at least one Business Intelligence Tools (MicroStrategy, Cognos, Business Objects, etc)
• 6-8 years experience in the Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse environment
• Experience in dealing with complex data models and large databases. Familiarity of database technologies such as SQL 2005
• Experience at dashboarding and bringing BI into an enterprise company
• Experience managing a Data Warehousing and/or Business Intelligence software team
• Experience with quality assurance techniques and practices
• Sound project management skills
