Sales Engineer

Responsibilities:
Identifying and understanding key customer technical requirements and articulating the value proposition of Avocent solutions (software application & hardware) for data centre environments
Delivering presentations and demonstrations of Avocent solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
Develop customer implementation plans as part of sales proposals
Customizing demonstrations to customer requirements and working closely with customers to plan and perform onsite "proof of concept/benchmark" tests
Working closely with regional sales team to build financial justification and ROI to help close sales opportunities
Building and maintaining strong customer relationships as primary technical point-of-contact during pre-sales activities, implementation, and transition to post-sales support
Working closely with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize customer enhancement requests and to plan and to contribute to future product releases

Requirements:
Degree in an appropriate technical discipline, business or other relevant disciplines
5 years of experience in pre- or post-sale customer and product support activities in the IT data center environment
Experience in technical solution and in setting up networking (eg ifconfig, route, etc)
Knowledge of shell scripting advantageous
Good presentation and communication
Work on own initiative, team orientated and flexible
Proficient in the Mandarin and English languages
