EIRE Systems Singapore, a leading IT and Project Management consulting firm, is looking for a Desktop / Network Support Engineer to work with our major international investment banking and professional services clients.

Successful candidates will gain extensive experience supporting a mid to large size network environment, as well as providing general support and troubleshooting for desktop PCs, Microsoft Office and financial applications.

In addition to support and operational responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to work on projects, particularly IT infrastructure projects. Familiarity with structured cabling, equipment room and data centre design will be highly regarded, as will CAD experience.

The candidate should be comfortable working without constant supervision and be capable of identifying and prioritising tasks.

- First point of contact for user inquiries to ensure calls are resolved to the customer's satisfaction
- Provide desktop support and incident resolution services, including installation, configuration, and upgrades of HW/SW.
- Assist with implementation and support of regional and corporate-wide technology initiatives, to ensure minimum business disruption.

- Assist as a project manager/project administrator when required

- Implement change requests in accordance with release instructions to ensure that business needs are fully met.
- Prepare and maintain accurate system documentation and technical procedures.
- Seek to provide the highest level of customer service to the business units to enhance reputation of the Technology Group.

A minimum of five years experience is required, preferably with some experience of working in the finance sector. Experience of working in a trading floor or similar environment would be an advantage.

Candidates should be excellent communicators, with a high level of fluency in spoken and written English.

Candidates should be based in Singapore, available for interview and be able to start this position quickly.


Qualifications

Desirable skills include the following:

- First level hardware and application support (PC/printers/phones/blackberry)
- Physical setup/move/add/change of hardware and application
- Maintain inventory
- Good communication skills
- Good technical skills in Windows desktop environment
- Minimum 5 years IT/IS experience, including LAN, WAN, and Internet connectivity
- Customer facing experience (via telephone and in person) in a very demanding environment supporting a large user base, preferably financial institution
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure design and implementation, including some experience with CAD software
- In-depth experience of standard desktop applications such as Lotus Notes, Windows NT4 through XP Professional, etc.
- In depth Microsoft Office support knowledge (Office 97 and above)
- Experience supporting financial, investment banking and market data applications will be highly useful
