APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide high quality customer support to our rapidly growing International Banking/Asset Management customer base, from our Singapore Regional Office. Managing a small team located at both our Singapore & Australia offices, the Analyst/Team Leader will provide support on a suite of successful Banking Reconciliation & Investigation Back Office client–server and web based products and solutions in use worldwide. Needs to have a ‘can do’ attitude to problem management through to timely resolution. Needs to demonstrate the ability to learn the application functionality quickly, and provide input into the overall support process and procedure, as demands upon it change and evolve. Position reports to Global Support Manager.

Requirements:

  • Proven customer support experience, and good telephone manner
  • Proven analytic problem solving and IT background.
  • Must demonstrate a quality approach to the provision of customer support service.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to learn new applications quickly and to the detail required
  • Knowledge of Unix. – eg:- directory navigation, vi editor, use of cron etc. is advantageous
  • Knowledge of both Windows client and server is advantageous
  • Knowledge of SQL – eg:- able to form complex database queries in order to progress support call investigations
  • Knowledge of RDBMS, with experience in at least one of Oracle, Sybase, or MS SQLServer. - eg:- understands indexing, standard database management and optimisation requirements, backup and recovery etc.
  • Ideally knowledge of at least one Web application servers – eg:- Websphere, Weblogic or JBoss
  • An ability to read application code (‘C’, .Net, Visual Basic or Java) an advantage
  • Interest in and business knowledge of Banking Front , Middle & Back Office environments desired
  • Work well in a busy team environment, and take full ownership of application support calls assigned
  • Any European or Chinese language skills an advantage as there will be a lot of liaising with Chinese clients.
  • HEAT administration skills also of interest
