Our client is one of Asia’s largest diversified conglomerates with interest in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Logistics & Distribution, Life Sciences and other businesses. The group has recorded phenomenal growth over the past few decades and is now emerging as a strong global player in several segments of its businesses. In view of this massive expansion, our client wishes to strengthen its existing teams in key areas and is looking for a senior IT professional from oil refining/petrochemical/chemical/process industries to join the team as :


Position : Vice President – Manufacturing IT – Process Industries
Location : India

Responsibilities :

The selected candidate will devise and implement a new strategy for enterprise-wide IT architecture for all manufacturing sites/locations – oil refineries and petrochemical facilities, establish platform/systems/processes/procedures, implement and operate/maintain the proposed architecture.

He/she will provide value accretive, integrated business IT solutions and manage operations of multiple information and communications systems, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation. He/she should be able to surpass the desired user service levels using effective helpdesk and tech support and user training wherever required.

The selected candidate will lead the improvements/implementation of manufacturing specific applications pertaining to health & safety, environment, integrated maintenance and materials management, training, operations management, technology management systems, laboratory information management system etc. and global best practices in these areas.


Requirements :

Ideal candidates will hold a Graduate/Post-Graduate degree in Engineering and have wide ranging experience in oil refining, including IT, engineering, operations or technical services.

They would either be manufacturing professionals who have moved into IT for the past few years or core IT professionals who have developed extensive knowledge of the manufacturing domain in Oil Refining/Petrochemicals/Chemicals/other process industries.


They should have independently led the IT group of a large manufacturing company with multiple sites in the Refining/Petrochemical/Chemical sectors, with a proven track record in conceptualization and implementation of enterprise wide business IT platform and solutions and establishing global best practices.


They should ideally have 20~25 years of experience and should have strong cross-functional exposure to IT, plant operations, engineering and maintenance, energy conservation, refinery planning and scheduling, plant automation and control, health and safety, environment and product and process quality.


Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, strategic business focus, team building and talent development capabilities, and excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills will be critical for success in this role.
