Based across the Asia Pacific Region APAC Technology supports 8 market facing business units. APAC Technology consists of approx 20 staff. We are looking for a senior IT Technical Support Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team.
Senior IT Infrastructure Support Engineer - Singapore
Key Responsibilities
- Team Lead role for IT support in Singapore Informa business
- Provide Hands on/ remote—1st to 3rd level support for IT operational issues.
- Handle escalations and problems timely and effectively
- Ensure all incidents are logged in Servicedesk
- Mentor and coach team members with constructive feedback to improve IT service Delivery
- Routine system monitoring of (not limited to): Backups, Server status, Storage level monitoring
- Virus monitoring software, Printers, consumables,
- Helpdesk Functions & Tele Communications
- Providing ad-hoc user support and training for supported software
- Maintenance of operationally robust and secure infrastructure.
- Control and prioritisation of workload and resources.
- Testing, evaluating and recommendations of new hardware and software
- Maintain list of software licenses
- Maintenance of ad hoc applications/interfaces to support existing 3rd party systems.
- Co-ordinate projects, external resources and 3rd party suppliers as appropriate.
- Ordering of hardware, software, consumables and managing relationships with vendors
Skills and Knowledge:
- Microsoft /Cisco Certified. ITIL aware.
- Experience of working in an IT Technical Infrastructure function.
- Extensive knowledge of MS Windows XP/Vista/7 and other operating systems.
- Extensive knowledge of System technologies
- (Win 2003/2008 with AD Services, MS Exchange, BlackBerry Server, McAfee etc.)
- Intermediate knowledge of Network technologies like Cisco devices (switches/Routers).
- Knowledge of Administering Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager)
- Knowledge & experience of industry suppliers and ability to manage them.
Character qualities sought include:
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Quick to grasp and provide timely resolutions.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting acumen
- Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
- To improve self on receiving constructive criticism from Manager
- Work towards achieving timely updates and reports
