Role Description:

The Level 2 DBA provides full life cycle database support for our application development team partners. Responsibilities:

§ Install and upgrade of DBMS, and related tools.

§ Work with the Level 1 Operations Analysts on the definition and implementation of database maintenance jobs.

§ Provide updates to operational run books with respect to database tasks.

§ Build databases and database objects according to documented standards.

§ Implement DBMS security standards in compliance with company security standards.

§ Validate and test H/A database failover to ensure availability of application and resident cluster. This includes C&R as well.

Requirements:

§ Diploma/Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

§ Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator

§ Knowledge of database clustering, client/server architecture, client connectivity products, network basics, database backup and recovery, database objects, database maintenance, and native database backup utilities, as appropriate.

§ Knowledge of DBMS internals and operations

§ Background in database performance tuning

§ Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle

§ Knowledge of Logical and Physical Data Modeling

§ Strong analytical, debugging and troubleshooting skills
